Let’s talk wall decor

I love the look of plain neutral colored walls and wall decor (pictures, art, frame etc). Personally I am not a big fan of colorful walls (a colored accent wall yes!) but not wall to wall colorful.

You can always add color to your walls with decor pieces. In fact nearly all of my walls in my house is painted with the color Lacey Pearl by Benjamin Moore.

I had this blank wall in my living room that needed some accent pieces. I decided that a picture wall would be great! But then I came into this dilemma of how to place my pictures along this wall. I didn’t want an old fashioned appearance I wanted a gallery type appeal. To my Pinterest I went searching for ideas and came across this…

Oh did I like this creative idea of arranging my pictures in one of these arrangements. I wanted to keep it simple and not too crowded so I decided to do half of my blank wall with the pictures. In the end….I was pleased. I even added a gold picture frame light at the top. This section of my wall is definitely a focal area to my living room.

You should try it. Have a wall that need a little love? Try dressing it up with a picture gallery arrangement!

Bathroom makeover

If you’ve been following my blog you’ll know by know that I am a DYI girl! I love doing big projects mainly although at times I do get involved in the arts and crafts realm as well.

Well one of the areas of my house that was a little nerving was one of my bathrooms. I wanted to try something different to the boring walls and boring color. So my favorite spot to go with Pinterest as always and I got into Wainscoting walls. I love the look of that. My style is normally modern and chic but the traditional look of wainscoting caught my eye.

There also was a cabinet in there that had long tall doors attached. The cabinet doors were antique however I felt that this cabinet should be the focal point in the bathroom. So I removed the doors and opened up the appearance of the cabinet. I wanted to stay with soft color tones so I painted it a pretty gray.

To say the least I am happy with the results. Now if I can save up some more money I can hopefully get the deep soaker tub and backsplash I that I want.

Me + Flowers

  • Gardenia
  • Roses
  • Lilly flowers
  • Hydrangeas
  • Peonies (gorgeous flower)
  • Tulips
  • Snapdragon (love these!!)

I l.o.v.e them all! My husband will surprise me every now and then with flowers because he knows I love them but sometimes I shower myself with fresh flowers.

I will admit that I have at times had floral arrangements all over my house in different areas with no special occasion planned. 😊

There is something about fresh flowers that makes me feel calm and fresh. The only drawback is that I want them to last a lifetime and they don’t! Lol. Fresh flowers can also be pretty expensive too. So I often opt for white Baby’s Breath. When they are full enough in a vase they add a very nice touch to any area.

Why wait for someone to buy you flowers? Treat yourself…you deserve it!
