Me + Flowers

  • Gardenia
  • Roses
  • Lilly flowers
  • Hydrangeas
  • Peonies (gorgeous flower)
  • Tulips
  • Snapdragon (love these!!)

I l.o.v.e them all! My husband will surprise me every now and then with flowers because he knows I love them but sometimes I shower myself with fresh flowers.

I will admit that I have at times had floral arrangements all over my house in different areas with no special occasion planned. 😊

There is something about fresh flowers that makes me feel calm and fresh. The only drawback is that I want them to last a lifetime and they don’t! Lol. Fresh flowers can also be pretty expensive too. So I often opt for white Baby’s Breath. When they are full enough in a vase they add a very nice touch to any area.

Why wait for someone to buy you flowers? Treat yourself…you deserve it!

I wanted a vintage wedding

Cake designed by Yours Truly 🙂

At the age of 12, I became inspired by my grandmother’s picture. She was gorgeous and she was 20. It was that old vintage feel and era of sophistication. I always wanted to recreate that time of my grandmother’s picture. And so I did with my wedding.

{My beautiful grandmother}

A few years ago I created a DIY themed wedding. Here are some ideas I used with my budget friendly vintage themed wedding. More pictures are available on my Pinterest!

Floral arrangements:

– I used preserved flowers

(They’re 1/2 the cost of fresh flowers and they look aged)

Bouquets:

– I had a Brooch bouquet

(It can always be used as a memoir, as opposed to fresh flowers)

– I made clutch purses for the bridesmaids

(It can be a keepsake as oppose to fresh flowers)

Menu cards

– I created the menu and printed them myself on kraft paper and added a stick on jewel at the top

Groomsmen boutonnière

– Handcrafted by yours truly. I used preserved mini roses and green leaf, bunny grass, and silk ribbon.

Don’t be afraid to get creative!
